The Ablution Book The Abolitions and cancellations (contrarieties) of Ablution They are six:
1.Urination. 2.Easing the nature (feces). 3.Sleeping and similar to its rule such as: madness, fainting, drunkenness (in-ebriation) (drinking wine), anaesthetizing which removes mind and sense. 4.Breaking wind (fart) from the anus only, but the fart from other places will not abolish (undo) the ablution. 5.Going out the blood of menstruation from its usual place. 6. Ablution can be invalidated (abolished), (cancelled) by self-pollution (ejaculation of semen, sperm) and everything similar to self-pollution which requires washing.
Some Rules of Doubt and Defect (Flaw) 1- If a person was confident of the validity of his ablution, then after that he doubted that his ablution was cancelled (abolished), then in this case, his ablution is based on purity and correctness. 2- If a person knew (was sure) that he performed the rite of ablution, and besides of that, he knew that he made a happening (Hadath) also, but he does not know which is the first and the latter. In this case, he must consider himself "making the Hadath" and perform a new ablution for every action that requires purity. 3- If a person ended his prayer and then doubted his ablution whether he performed it or not in this case, he ought to consider his prayer valid and come with the ablution, but if he wanted to pray again, he should perform the rite of ablution again for this prayer. The Conditions and Duties of Ablution Ablution is a worship as the other worships and it is required by itself, but ablution is obligatory (a duty) when the prayer depends on it. Since the prayer is a duty, ablution completes that duty. Every part is important to the other. 1. The Conditions of Ablution water They are three: a. The water of the ablution must be absolute without addition of another liquid. b. It must be pure (clean). c. It must be allowable and permitted for any one as a public property not a person and free for all. It must not be usurped or taken by force. 2. The Conditions of the person who performs Ablution a. the purity of the organs (members) of ablution. b. He must be Moslem and Possessing belief (piety). c. The health of the person who performs the ablution in a way which will not hurt or cause pain for him in washing or when he wipes (rubs) d. The intention: It means that the ablution ought to be a desire or wish for God's consent (satisfaction), praise be to Him, and for the sake of God, approaching Him to get His compensation (reward) and to get rid of His punishment. The intention must go on perpetually until the end of the deeds of ablution by rubbing and wiping the left foot.
3. Matters that should be considered during ablution a Management: the commissioned person must take charge of ablution by himself. b The arrangement of the deeds of ablution. c Loyalty (fealty): the following between its deeds (actions) and he should not separate them.
2. The Duties and Parts of Ablution 1. Washing the face by causing water to flow (run) on it from the forehead (brow) the upper part, from the beginning of the head hair to the end of the chin longways and the area which the thumb can reach with the middle finger opened broadways. Washing must be from the upper area to the lower. Water should reach the cuticle (epidermis) which is free from thick hair which we can not see the cuticle through it. As for the thick hair, like beard with thick hair, and we can not see the cuticle through it, we wash the apparent hair only and that will do. 2. Washing the two hands. We must begin washing the right hand before the left. It is not enough to wash them together. It is required to wash the hand that we begin from the elbow and end at the heads of the fingers (ends). We must make sure of the reaching of the water to the cuticle. Washing is not only the reaching of moisture to the required place, but to make the water flow (run) on it, even by hand and by drawing water from a place to another. 3. Wiping (rubbing) the head by passing the right hand on it. Rubbing must be by the palm of the hand (right hand) with the fingers or with the palm. Precautiously, rubbing must be on the front part of the head and better to be on the forelock. Also rubbing can be how so ever it may be (as you like) from the upper to the lower or vice-versa. The best is from the upper part to the lower namely it begins from the top of the head to the end of the hair of the head. It is better considered to wet (moisten) the right hand to rub by it. It is not allowed to rub with the new wetness of water, and also it is not allowed to mix the two together. 4. Wiping the two feet by the palm of the right hand on the apparent part of the right foot on the fingers heads to the ankle-bone (astragals) by putting the palm of the right hand on the heads of the right foot and drawing it to the dome of the feet (top) so that rubbing can reach the ankle-bone which is the joint that separates the foot from the leg, then rubbing the left foot with the left hand in the same way previously.
The Ablution of Bonesetting (bandage) If there is bonesetting on the members or limbs of the person, he can lift that bonesetting (bandage) and remove the medicine to wash the cuticle without harm and without pain increase. In this case, he has to (must) remove (lift) the bonesetting and wash the cuticle, if it is within the area of ablution, and rub the place after washing, if it is in the area of washing, but if it is difficult to lift (remove) the veil (the bandage) and we can convey (conduct) the water to the Ablution lower part of the bandage without harm or pain increase, then we conduct (convey) water to the cuticle and that will be enough in washing. If the bandage was on the place of rubbing and we can insert the finger to that place, then we must rub from the same easy place by the finger to the pain (wound). If we can remove the veil (bandage) from the place of the wound within the members (parts) of ablution, but that area (place) was impurified (unclean) by blood and medicine of it and washing was harmful, in this case, we must give up (leave) ablution and use "AL-Tayamum" (to dust your hands). If the wound was within the parts of the ablution and it is difficult to remove the bandage, and we can not convery the water to that cuticle and we cannot remove the medicine, then, we shall wash round the wound (bandage) and medicine on that place, then we rub on the bandage and the medicine only.
The Matters that require Ablution by Obligation We must perform ablution for these matters: 1. The obligatory prayer and its appendices (accessories) such as: precaution prayer, performing the forgotten parts. 2. Performing (doing) the prayer that was passing for the person and for others. 3. The prayer of perambulation in "Hadj and Umra". 4. Ablution is a duty in the case of vows. 5. Touching the writing of "The Holy Koran".
Washing This means that we convey (communicate) the water to all the parts of the body without exception: the head, the neck, all the sides up to the hollow sole of the two feet. This washing is either obligatory or commendable (approvable). The Obligatory washing has six cases: 1. Washing of the dead person. 2. Washing for self-pollution (masturbation) 3. Washing of menstruation. 4. Washing of confinement (lying-in) (puerperium) 5. Washing for touching the dead person. 6. Washing of "AL-Istihadha" (the yellow blood ( often) goes down from a woman irregularly up to 50 years). If many causes (reasons) were gathered for washing such as: washing for, self-pollution, or menstruation or touching the dead person...etc. If there is the cause of self- pollution, then the commissioned person can intend for washing (self-pollution), then in this case, his washing will do for the rest (the other causes) just one washing for all. If he intended for another cause (not the self-pollution), then his intention would be sufficient (substitute) for his intention only not for other reasons, namely the intention covers the cause only not for other reasons, namely the intention covers the cause only, not else. There is no need to wash for prayer, if a person performed the washing of self-pollution, then he can pray without ablution.
The Conditions of Washing They are the same conditions of ablution which were mentioned in its place except the condition of loyalty in the Washing arranging washing. If he washed the head and the neck, and then after along period he washed the rest of his body, in this case his washing is valid. How to wash There are two conditions (cases) for washing: 1. Arrangement: That means we wash the head and the neck first by spilling (pouring) the water on them in a way to reach the cuticle and cover them how so ever it may be, then we wash and wash all the body by pouring water in a way to reach all the body. It is better to wash the right side before the left. We must wash the hair of the head whether it is long or short and the other parts. 2. Immersion (sinking into the water): It means that a person immerges his body into water all at once in a way to make the water reach all his body. If There is a Bandage on the Body: The rule of the bandage is the same rule which is applied to other sorts of washing except the dead person like ablution. If there was a wound or ulceration (uncovered), we should wash it, but if washing hurts the wound, we should put a piece of cloth on the wound and rub on it and wash round the wound. If there is a fracture not covered without a bandage and water hurts it (washing), then in this case, we use, instead of washing "AL-Tayamum" (to dust the hands).
Self-Pollution and its Rules The Reasons: There are two reasons for self-pollution: 1. The going out of semen (sperm). 2. The sexual intercourse which takes place by inserting the glans (penis) into the vulva of the woman (the female member) to the vagina or to the hermaphrodite (male and female together) or into their anuses (back-sides) or the anus of the male or the vulva of another animal. The washing of self-pollution is a worship and a preface to some worships The Washing of self-pollution is a condition for: 1. For the obligatory and commendable prayers. 2. Fasting. 3. Perambulation. 4. Also it is a condition for the compulsory and commendable living in seclusion (privacy), and addiction in a certain place alone.
There are Many Prohibitions for the person who has self-pollution 1. Touching the "Holy Koran" writing and God's name, praise be to Him, and precautiously the other good names for Him. 2.
