His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Al-Uzema Sheikh Bashir Hussain Al-Najafi (may Allah prolong his life) Welcomes Danny Copper, the new French ambassador of Iraq

In welcoming Danny Copper, the new French ambassador of Iraq, and his delegation, his Eminence Grand Ayatollah Al-Uzema Sheikh Bashir Hussain Al-Najafi (may Allah prolong his life) emphasized that France should make sure to form relationships based on respecting the freedoms of the people, especially if it wants to guarantee the success of their relationships and their longevity. He further pointed out that France's support to the previous tyrannical regimes in Iraq and in neighboring areas was the reason past relationships failed, therefore, France should work on respecting personal rights and freedoms and reconsider the issue of banning hijab in the country. His eminence also mentioned the importance of developing French-Iraqi relationships on all economic and scientific levels. In turn, the French ambassador expressed how happy he was to meet his Eminence (may Allah prolong his life), and suggested the best ways possible to develop relationships between the two countries and to further develop the projects being held in Iraq by French companies.
