His Eminence, the Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafy (may Allah prolong his life) welcomed the Italian Ambassador, Mr. Maurizio Cricant, where they discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and the State of Italy, and the need to advance relations in a way that serves the two peoples.

His Eminence, the Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafy (may Allah prolong his life) also stressed that Islam is keen on achieving security and stability and organizing social and economic relations among peoples, pointing out that the phenomenon of terrorism is the product of policies and agendas that have nothing to do with religions.

For his part, Mr. Cricant gave an explanation of his diplomatic vision and ways to strengthen relations between the Iraqi and Italian peoples, thanking His Eminence for the blessed time.
