Head of Armenian Orthodox Community in Iraq Meets with Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafy's Office to Discuss Coexistence

The office of His Eminence the Grand Ayatollah (may Allah prolong his life) in Najaf Al-Ashraf received the head of the Armenian Orthodox community in Iraq, Mr. Ashakan Kolokulian, and his accompanying delegation. They were received by His Eminence Sayyid Muhammad Taher Al-Jaza'iri, who conveyed the greetings and salutations of His Eminence the Grand Ayatollah (may Allah prolong his life) to the visiting delegation, in an atmosphere characterized by mutual respect and an emphasis on shared human and religious commonalities.

During his conversation with the delegation, His Eminence Sayyid Muhammad Taher Al-Jaza'iri affirmed that Islam is a religion of peace, mercy, and coexistence, and that it came to complete and confirm previous divine messages, calling for respect for humanity, the preservation of its dignity, and the establishment of the values of love and tolerance among the various components of society. He pointed out the importance of enhancing a culture of dialogue and understanding among followers of different religions and sects, which contributes to the preservation of societies and the consolidation of stability and civil peace.

For his part, the head of the Armenian Orthodox community in Iraq, Mr. Ashakan Kolokulian, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception, commending the positions of the religious authority in support of peaceful coexistence and national unity. He affirmed the importance of continuing meetings and dialogues that strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation among the sons of Iraqi society from all its sects and components.
