His Eminence Sheikh Ali Al-Najafi (may he be supported), Representative of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafi (may his noble presence endure) and Director of His Eminence’s Central Office in Najaf Al-Ashraf, received an official and popular delegation representing the people of Al-Kifl District.

At the outset of the meeting, His Eminence Sheikh Ali Al-Najafi spoke of the great significance of the blessed anniversary of the Noble Prophet Muhammad’s birth (peace be upon him and his Household), highlighting its historical and doctrinal dimensions and its profound significance for the Muslim Ummah.

His Eminence noted that historical sources affirm that the followers of the divinely revealed religions had awaited this blessed birth, on the basis of the glad tidings conveyed through their scriptures and traditions. He further explained that this auspicious birth marked the beginning of a new era for all humanity, being the culmination of prophethood and divine messages. He stressed that the noble religion of Islam came with the final and comprehensive Divine Law, embracing all that is required for the wellbeing and advancement of human life.

Confronting Intellectual Challenges

His Eminence Sheikh Ali Al-Najafi drew attention to the grave intellectual and media warfare confronting Muslims today, noting that it is being conducted by international organizations and institutions seeking to impose their own visions and orientations.

He explained that such entities employ various means to alter intellectual identities and religious convictions, with social media platforms standing at the forefront of these means. He also referred to projects promoted under seemingly attractive humanitarian slogans which, despite their outward appearance, may conceal questionable objectives aimed at stripping society of its authentic values and undermining the firm principles upon which its religious and moral foundations have been established.

Targeting the Younger Generation and the Sanctities

His Eminence, Director of the Central Office, warned of the expanding scope of this intellectual confrontation, which manifests itself through the dissemination of doubts and deviant ideas intended to undermine people’s beliefs in general and the beliefs of young people in particular.

He explained that these systematic campaigns seek to influence collective consciousness and sever emerging generations from their religious heritage. This, he emphasized, necessitates comprehensive intellectual and popular vigilance in confronting such threatening schemes, while safeguarding minds against media misinformation that enters the digital sphere on a daily basis through its unrestricted channels.

The Role of the Family and Upbringing

Concluding his remarks, His Eminence Sheikh Ali Al-Najafi emphasized that the foundation of education and reform begins with the family and parents. He called for careful attention to children, including monitoring the content they access through social media platforms, while working to strengthen their religious, national, and moral identity.

His Eminence further affirmed that consolidating strong relationships between parents and their children, and building bridges of dialogue within the family, represent the soundest approach to raising conscious and steadfast generations, firmly rooted in their identity and capable of confronting contemporary intellectual challenges with steadfastness, wisdom, and awareness.
