Coinciding with the arrival of the sacred month of Muharram, the shrine of Zayd al-Shahid (peace be upon him) hosted the flag-raising ceremony of sorrow, attended by the representative of the Grand Religious Authority, His Eminence Sheikh Bashir Al-Najafy (may his shadow endure), and His Eminence Sheikh Ali Al-Najafy,

He also took part in raising the mourning flags at the shrine of Lady Sharifa (peace be upon her).

On this occasion, His Eminence Sheikh Ali Al-Najafy delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of adhering to the Hussaini path in both word and deed, and of drawing inspiration from the principles of truth and steadfastness on values as embodied in the life of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). He prayed for mercy and acceptance for all, asking Allah Almighty to make this blessed month one of grace and support for the values of authentic Muhammadan Islam.

His Eminence conveyed a set of instructions and guidance from the Grand Religious Authority, stressing the importance of commemorating the martyrdom of the Master of the Free, Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), his family, and his noble companions.

This event comes as part of the spiritual atmosphere and early preparations for commemorating the rituals of Ashura and recalling the eternal epic of Karbala, which embodies the highest meanings of sacrifice and selflessness in the cause of truth.
