The office of His Eminence, the Grand Marja' Sheikh Bashir Al-Najafi (May Allah prolong his life), held a solemn Fatimid mourning council at its central office in the city of Najaf al-Ashraf. The council was attended by a number of scholars and dignitaries of the Islamic Seminary, agents and representatives of His Eminence the Marja' (May Allah prolong his life), in addition to crowds of believers and servants of the processions.

His Eminence Sayyid Al-Ba'aj ascended the pulpit and spoke about the tragedy of Lady al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and the injustice that befell her, explaining the impact of her calamity on the House of Prophethood and the conscience of the nation.

The council concluded with prayers for the believers, asking for success and righteousness, and supplicating to God Almighty to accept their sincere deeds and make them a provision for this world and the hereafter.
